It was 2010, and I was living on Hawthorne Boulevard in Portland, Oregon when I decided to branch out from the overdriven electro music I’d been creating on works like Tetragrammaton and Dance Naked.

Around is an anthem for gratitude, fortified by relentless kick drums and pizzicato strings. Lotus is a pseudo-goth inquisition, driven ahead by nonsensical verse. And on Butterfly, I take you to a park bench, where we’ll sit and watch the world end.
