In 2021, I moved to Saint Petersburg, Florida, after having spent the previous several months traveling the country in my custom campervan, Vincent Van-Go!.

As I arrived and settled into the flow of life there, I started frequenting many of the city's kava bars. Kava is a plant grown in the Pacific Islands that is made into a tea with sedative properties. Saint Petersburg has been called the kava capital of the United States, and kava is served almost as commmonly as coffee.

Before I integrated myself into the social scene here, I would spend hours at the kava bar drawing whatever came to mind. These are the product of my first months here in Saint Petersburg.
